Data Center Virtualization Engineer (Secret Clearance)

About the role

V2X supports its clients' physical and digital infrastructure worldwide, and this Data Center Virtualization Engineer (DCVE) supports the enterprise virtual infrastructure for all sites in the RCC-SWA Area of Responsibility. The role provides optimization, administration and technical documentation, resolves enterprise-level change requests and acts as the top-level escalation for virtualization support issues. It falls under the OMDAC-SWACA program.

Key responsibilities

• Enterprise-level support for VMware virtualization technologies (ESXi, vCenter, vCOPS, vRealize, SRM)
• Daily monitoring of virtualization integrity, reliability, resource utilization and availability, with periodic reports on capacity, uptime, performance and MTTR
• Log review and issue reporting on temperature and virtualization health across the AOR
• Configure and provision VMs, ESXi hosts and VCSAs; plan, install, configure and upgrade the virtual network infrastructure
• Support backup, disaster recovery, virtual networking, HA, performance monitoring, firmware/software upgrades and system audits
• Document TTPs for configuring and managing the virtual environment
• Review the IAVA report and coordinate remediation, providing patches and firmware updates

Required profile

• Active Secret Clearance; must meet host-country requirements including a host nation visa and driver's license
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Computer Science, MIS, IS, Engineering or a related field
• At least five years of practical experience with data (network and system) technologies
• Adherence to DoD 8570.01M; at least one baseline certification and one computing environment certification
• Ability to withstand extreme heat and lift up to 50 lbs while wearing protective gear
