Deputy Director – Safety, Standards, Quality & Environment

About the role

The Deputy Director will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of an Integrated Management System (IMS) across the operations directorate in Kuwait. This senior position provides independent oversight to ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are met, maintained and enhanced.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategy for independent safety, quality and environmental assurance, including investigations and escalation to the Delivery Director.
• Promote leadership and capability development in safety, quality and environmental practices throughout the operation.
• Prepare and manage certification processes for ISO 9001, ISO 10002 and ISO 14001.
• Provide oversight of all IMS-related training and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Design performance indicators, report on IMS performance to senior leadership, customers and regulators.
• Facilitate change‑management initiatives and foster a motivated, high‑performing workforce.
• Act as an integral member of the on‑site NATS leadership team and substitute for other leaders as required.

Required profile

• Extensive operational experience in a safety leadership role.
• Degree‑level education or equivalent.
• Proven senior leadership in a dynamic, customer‑focused environment.
• Ability to lead through uncertainty, ambiguity and change.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
