Director of Capital Markets Operations

About the role

The client, a leading financial services and investment firm in Kuwait, seeks a Director of Capital Markets Operations to steer the end‑to‑end trade lifecycle, back‑office functions and regulatory compliance. This senior leader will shape operational strategy, drive automation and build a high‑performing team to support growth across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a comprehensive operational strategy aligned with growth targets and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee trade execution, settlement, reconciliation and corporate actions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead back‑office functions including KYC, client onboarding and fund movement processes.
• Develop and enforce SOPs, internal controls and automation initiatives to reduce operational risk.
• Maintain full compliance with relevant regulations and manage external audit responses.
• Build, mentor and manage a large operations team, setting KPIs and development pathways.
• Manage relationships with brokers, custodians and market infrastructure providers.
• Provide data‑driven performance and risk insights to the executive leadership team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive financial operations experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven background in regulated brokerage, capital markets or fintech environments.
• Strong track record of scaling operations, strengthening controls and driving automation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to influence board‑level stakeholders.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in trade lifecycle management and settlement processes.
• Extensive knowledge of multi‑market reconciliation and operational risk frameworks.
• Solid understanding of regulatory compliance standards for capital markets.
