Director of Faculty Affairs

About the role

The Director of the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) leads AIU’s strategic hub for faculty success, academic engagement, and career development. Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the role shapes policies, programmes, and culture that enable faculty to thrive throughout their academic careers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement institutional policies that promote faculty excellence, shared governance, and leadership development.
• Coordinate faculty‑related academic matters across all schools, the Foundation Programme, and future graduate programmes.
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Deans, Department Chairs, the Centre for Teaching & Learning, and other units to ensure consistent academic support while maintaining clear boundaries from HR employment functions.
• Support AIU’s WSCUC accreditation efforts and long‑term academic distinction.
• Lead the creation of strategic plans, partnerships, and operational culture for the Office of Faculty Affairs.
• Oversee faculty career development initiatives, recognition programs, and institutional effectiveness measures.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in higher‑education administration or faculty affairs.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives that enhance academic quality and governance.
• Strong collaborative skills with multiple university units, including HR, academic schools, and research offices.
• Experience supporting accreditation processes and institutional transformation.
