Director of Global Excellence and Benchmarking

About the role

The Director of Global Excellence and Benchmarking will lead AIU’s strategy to achieve visibility and credibility in international university rankings and benchmarking frameworks. Reporting directly to the President, this senior position shapes the university’s external reputation by turning institutional data into compelling ranking submissions and actionable improvement plans.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all data submissions to ranking agencies such as QS, Times Higher Education, Webometrics, UI GreenMetric, ensuring full compliance with each methodology.
• Design, implement and manage a comprehensive benchmarking program against regional and global peer institutions.
• Collaborate closely with Institutional Research, Accreditation & Institutional Effectiveness, Research & Innovation, and Academic Affairs offices.
• Translate raw institutional data into strategic intelligence that informs positioning decisions and quality improvement initiatives.
• Act as AIU’s external liaison to the global higher‑education community, communicating performance metrics to ranking bodies and benchmark frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in higher‑education administration or a comparable data‑driven environment.
• Deep technical knowledge of international university ranking methodologies and benchmarking practices.
• Strong analytical rigor with the ability to convert complex data sets into clear, actionable insights.
• Strategic vision to identify improvement opportunities across ranking indicators.
• Experience working with senior university officials and cross‑functional teams.
