Driver G2 – Safe Transportation and Logistics Support

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Driver G2 to provide safe and efficient transportation for staff, visitors and commodities at its Kuwait Office. The role also includes basic administrative support within the office.

Key responsibilities

• Transport authorized personnel and deliver items following UN safety and security rules, including basic translation between English and Arabic.
• Receive visitors at the airport, assist with visa and customs formalities, and ensure smooth entry to destinations.
• Maintain accurate vehicle log books, report mechanical status daily, and ensure fuel‑efficient operation.
• Keep the assigned vehicle clean, serviced on time, fully equipped, and report any issues promptly.
• Follow field delivery rules, report accidents immediately, and cooperate with supervisors for corrective actions.
• Perform office tasks such as filing, photocopying, managing stores, handling mail, and paying telephone bills when required.

Required profile

• Fluency in English and Arabic (level C).
• Secondary school education and a valid driver’s licence with formal driver training.
• At least two years of professional driving experience, preferably in an international or UN setting, with a clean safety record.
• Residence within 100 km of the WFP Kuwait Office or willingness to relocate at personal expense.

Required skills

• Vehicle operation and minor repair skills.
• Knowledge of driving rules, chauffeur protocol and defensive driving techniques.
• Ability to use radio, email and telephone communications.
• Basic first‑aid knowledge and emergency response awareness.
