EMT Basic – Emergency Medical Technician (Basic)

About the role

The EMT Basic position is based in Kuwait and supports emergency response operations for WEXMAC and V2X. The role involves providing basic emergency medical care, responding to fire and medical calls, and ensuring safe patient transport to medical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire, medical, and related emergency calls when dispatched.
• Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) in accordance with EMS protocols.
• Assist paramedics in assessing injuries and determining treatment priorities.
• Transport patients safely to designated hospitals or clinics.
• Maintain fire department vehicles and equipment in a ready condition.
• Staff the Fire Alarm Communications Center, monitor alarm systems, and dispatch appropriate resources.
• Participate in continuing medical education as both instructor and student.
• Communicate effectively via radio, telephone, and written reports.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the Fire Chief or designee.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate degree preferred.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Eligibility for IFSAC or Pro‑Board certification.
• Two years of related experience may substitute for one year of education.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of EMS protocols and fire safety/prevention.
• Ability to operate fire alarm monitoring and communications equipment.
• Proficiency in radio and telephone communication.
