Experienced Cathodic Protection Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cathodic Protection (CP) Technician to join our maintenance team in Kuwait. The role involves performing a wide range of CP surveys, field installations, and routine maintenance on offshore platforms, risers, and marine structures.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct periodical surveys such as T/R Unit, Potential, IR Free Readings, Polarization Decay, Structure‑to‑Soil, Soil Resistivity, Offshore Platform and Riser surveys.
• Perform field activities including installation and upgrading of CP systems, fitting anodes, test leads, cables, junction and resistor boxes, reference cells, and related equipment.
• Execute routine minor maintenance: repair DC cable breaks, replace fuses/breakers, change oil, replace lighting arrestors, fix fence/lock issues, replace breathers, coat T/R units, excavate and repair cable breaks, replace test posts and resistors.
• Inspect and replace sacrificial anodes on vessels, tanks and marine structures, and install cable markers.
• Install, repair, modify and test rectifiers and associated components.

Required profile

• Education Certificate (ITI) or Diploma.
• AMPP or NACE CP Level 1 certification.
• Minimum six (6) years of hands‑on experience in cathodic protection.

Required skills

• Cathodic Protection (CP) techniques.
• AMPP CP Level 1 / NACE CP Level 1.
• T/R Unit, Potential, IR Free Reading and Polarization Decay surveys.
• Soil Resistivity and Structure‑to‑Soil surveys.
• Installation of anodes, test leads, junction boxes, resistor boxes and reference cells.
• Rectifier installation, testing and maintenance.
• DC cable repair and sacrificial anode inspection.
