Financial Reporting Accountant

About the role

An experienced Financial Reporting Accountant is sought to join the Finance team in Kuwait. The role reports to the Senior Finance Officer and the Manager / Controller and covers monthly and quarterly financial reporting, regulatory and statutory reporting, and support for external audits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash position reports and variance analysis.
• Prepare supporting schedules for regulatory filings, including CMA-related reporting requirements.
• Ensure reports reconcile accurately to the general ledger and underlying accounting records, and review and validate reconciliations prepared by the Bookkeeper/Accountant.
• Support the external audit process, respond to initial auditor queries, prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation, and provide financial analysis.
• Assist with group and multi-entity consolidation, including Kuwait and UAE entities.
• Provide cross-functional support to the finance team and back up bookkeeping and accounting activities when needed.
• Meet month-end and quarter-end deadlines and maintain compliance with IFRS, accounting policies and regulatory standards.
• Help improve financial reporting processes, controls and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with 4-5 years of experience in financial and statutory reporting.
• Prior experience in an accounting or audit firm is preferred.
• Exposure to regulatory reporting, CMA filings and statutory requirements is an advantage.
• Experience in multi-entity accounting or group consolidation, preferably in banking, financial services or listed companies, is desirable.
• CPA/ACCA qualification or in progress is preferred; strong English, Arabic an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial statement preparation, reconciliations and audit support.
• ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar, and advanced Excel.
• Detail-oriented, analytical and able to meet strict reporting deadlines.
