Fire Inspector

About the role

The Fire Inspector will be based in Kuwait supporting the LOGCAP program under the supervision of the Assistant Chief of Fire Prevention. The role involves planning, organizing and conducting fire prevention activities across facilities, including inspections, investigations, public education, plan reviews and acceptance inspections of fire protection systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and document fire inspections of all facilities.
• Perform plan reviews to verify compliance with NFPA, UFC and DoD standards.
• Manage the fire extinguisher exchange program and oversee wet‑pipe sprinkler system testing.
• Provide fire safety training to Facility Managers, Fire Wardens and other personnel.
• Coordinate final acceptance inspections for new construction and renovation projects with DPW.
• Participate in Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) programs and assist with fire investigations per AR 420‑1.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement, Army Regulation 420‑1 and DOD Manual 6055.06.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Valid U.S. passport, driver’s license and ability to obtain a U.S. Government motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Minimum five (5) years of fire prevention experience, including at least five years as a Fire Inspector or Fire Prevention Specialist.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science preferred; high school diploma minimum.
• Certifications required by DOD Manual 6055.06 and acceptable IFSAC/Pro‑Board credentials (Fire Inspector II, Fire Investigator, Public Fire and Life Safety Educator, HazMat Awareness).
• Pass physical exam and federal background check.
