Food Services Supervisor

About the role

The Food Services Supervisor ensures that the dining area operates smoothly, delivering high-quality service to guests while maintaining safety, cleanliness and efficiency. Reporting to management, the supervisor leads a team of service staff, oversees daily operations and supports continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate opening and closing procedures, including setup of supplies, equipment cleaning and securing the premises.
• Inspect staff grooming, attire and overall presentation, correcting any deficiencies.
• Monitor dining room seating, service flow, guest safety and satisfaction.
• Maintain storage areas using FIFO principles, conduct inventories and requisition supplies.
• Create and complete work orders for maintenance and repairs.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Enforce company policies, safety standards and report incidents promptly.
• Provide courteous guest interactions, assist individuals with disabilities and uphold the company’s service standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of food-service experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, standing for long periods and navigating confined spaces.
• Strong communication skills and professional appearance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of FIFO inventory management.
• Basic understanding of safety and security procedures.
