Full Stack Engineer (2-Month Contract)

About the role

Q8tly builds technology for restaurants in Kuwait: a discovery platform for diners and a SaaS reservation platform that manages bookings, tables, waiting lists and guest communication, with booking, changes and cancellations handled via WhatsApp through an AI assistant. The platform is live with real users and needs a strong engineer for 2 months, starting immediately. This is a hands-on role where you write code every day and run the daily operations of a live, multi-tenant SaaS product.

Key responsibilities

• Pick up tickets from the team board, write code, test it and get it reviewed and merged; review pull requests from teammates.
• Check the platform daily for errors, failed jobs and WhatsApp delivery problems and resolve them.
• Respond to bug reports and support questions from the team and from restaurants.
• Join short daily check-ins and give clear written updates on progress and blockers.
• Prepare and verify releases with the team.
• Debug production issues from logs, errors and user reports, then fix them safely and confirm they are resolved.
• Build features and fix bugs across the Next.js frontend and the Python/FastAPI backend.
• Work on multi-tenant architecture, PostgreSQL, migrations, background jobs and third-party integrations.
• Handle WhatsApp Business Platform webhooks, message templates, delivery failures and restaurant onboarding with Meta.
• Build the WhatsApp AI agent: conversation flows in Arabic and English, tool calls to APIs, error handling and handover to staff.
• Test main user journeys end to end before each release and add tests so fixed bugs stay fixed.
• Write short notes on what was fixed and how things work.

Required profile

• 4 to 6 years of professional software engineering, including live production systems.
• Experience on a SaaS product, ideally multi-tenant.
• Proven ability to join an existing codebase and ship useful fixes within days.
• Experience connecting an AI assistant to real application APIs.
• Comfortable with Docker, Git, code review and CI/CD.
• Independent, clear communicator who flags blockers early and finishes work to a verified result.
• NDA required.

Required skills

• Strong debugging, including production debugging with logs, monitoring and database queries.
• Next.js, React and TypeScript.
• Python and FastAPI, with solid PostgreSQL skills.
• Strong plus: Meta Tech Provider or embedded signup experience and hands-on WhatsApp Business Platform / Cloud API work.
• Nice to have: restaurant or reservation systems, Arabic/English conversational apps, payment integrations.
