General Manager – Pre‑Opening for 5‑Star Hotel in Kuwait

About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the full launch of a new 5‑star luxury hotel in Kuwait. This senior leadership position will oversee every aspect of the pre‑opening phase, from vendor selection to staff recruitment, training, and the execution of both soft and hard openings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive pre‑opening plans for all departments (F&B, Rooms, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, Finance).
• Source, negotiate and contract with vendors, including POS systems, uniforms, equipment and food‑beverage suppliers.
• Build the management team, recruit department heads and critical staff, and design competitive compensation packages.
• Create and deliver training programs, conduct soft‑opening simulations and ensure operational readiness.
• Enforce brand standards, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with local regulations and licensing.
• Plan and manage phased soft and public openings, media relations and VIP guest experiences.
• Monitor pre‑opening budgets, control costs, forecast operating expenses and establish financial controls.
• Maintain transparent communication with owners, developers, corporate leadership and local authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years progressive hospitality management experience, including at least three pre‑opening or repositioning roles.
• Proven record of launching luxury properties on time and within budget.
• Strong knowledge of GCC/Middle East markets, especially UAE, KSA and Qatar.
• Hospitality degree or equivalent professional certification.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
