Head of Custody – Kuwait

About the role

Citi is seeking a senior leader to head its Custody business in Kuwait. The role will drive business growth, ensure high‑quality service delivery and represent Citi with regulators and market participants.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a clear business strategy for the Kuwait franchise aligned with regional objectives.
• Lead revenue generation, market‑share expansion and P&L management while maintaining risk discipline.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of custodial services, including operations and client service excellence.
• Represent Citi with market regulators, industry forums and infrastructure providers such as Boursa Kuwait and KCC.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across operations, corporate banking, treasury, compliance and legal.
• Monitor regulatory changes, manage audit processes and act as the first line of defence for business risk.
• Identify new business opportunities, pitch prospects and develop new product offerings.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Custody Services, with deep knowledge of direct custody, clearing and investor services in Kuwait.
• Proven experience dealing with local market infrastructure and regulators.
• Track record of working across multiple products and geographies.
• Fluent Arabic language skills.
• University degree.
