Housekeeping Attendant

About the role

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms and public areas in a hotel environment. Working under the direction of supervisors, the role ensures that all standards of performance, health, safety and guest satisfaction are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Collect keys and daily assignments, and prepare the trolley and necessary equipment for efficient task performance.
• Clean and replenish guest rooms, following the hotel’s Standards of Performance for room supplies.
• Clean and restock bathrooms, adhering to safety and performance standards.
• Arrange and tidy guest belongings while cleaning rooms and bathrooms.
• Coordinate with Valet Service to collect guest clothing for laundry, dry‑cleaning or pressing.
• Clean guest corridors, service pantries and service areas, maintaining a professional appearance.
• Report maintenance‑related issues to the Engineering Department.
• Consider guest needs in public areas and rooms, ensuring courteous service and satisfaction.
• Uphold environmental, health and safety standards in line with organisational policies.

Required profile

• Ability to follow supervisors’ guidance and hotel policies.
• Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
• Good communication skills for interacting with guests and internal teams.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
• Awareness of health, safety and environmental procedures.
