Executive Housekeeper

About the role

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall management and operation of the hotel's Housekeeping Department, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas and other facilities are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, safety and guest satisfaction. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and supervise daily housekeeping operations, inspect rooms and public areas, and coordinate with Front Office on room status, arrivals, departures, VIPs and room moves
• Recruit, train and schedule housekeeping staff, monitor performance and attendance, and give regular feedback
• Respond promptly to guest complaints and feedback, and work with other departments to resolve issues
• Monitor housekeeping supplies, linen, uniforms, amenities and chemicals, maintain inventory and linen counts, and control costs with Purchasing and Finance
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, safety and environmental standards, including correct storage and use of cleaning chemicals
• Prepare departmental reports, schedules, forecasts and budgets, and develop and update housekeeping SOPs
• Support hotel events, VIP and group arrivals, and hotel-wide projects

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred; equivalent operational experience highly valued
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as Executive Housekeeper in 5-star hotels or luxury resorts
• Good command of English
• Hands-on leader with strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and ability to work under pressure
• Physically fit and able to conduct daily room inspections

Required skills

• Proficiency in hotel PMS (e.g. Opera, Smile)
• Basic MS Office (Excel, Word) for scheduling and inventory tracking
• Cost control, inventory management and labour scheduling
