HR Business Advisor (Local Candidates Only)

About the role

American International University (AIU), a private institution in Kuwait founded in 2019, is hiring an HR Business Advisor. The post reports to the Manager - Talent Acquisition & Employee Relations and acts as a direct point of contact for employees of an appointed department, bridging the gap between departments and HR. Local candidates only.

Key responsibilities

• Track and monitor attendance records, keeping them accurate and up to date.
• Monitor and manage leave requests in line with university policy and regulations.
• Lead termination meetings and handle resignations professionally, following university requirements.
• Take part in recruiting by sourcing and attracting talent for the assigned department.
• Collaborate with the HR team so that HR strategies match departmental goals.
• Lead onboarding and offboarding, ensuring smooth transitions for new hires and departing staff.
• Build strong relationships with department and divisional leaders and act as their liaison with HR.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field; HR certification preferred.
• 6 years of HR experience, ideally in higher education or a similar setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to handle sensitive conversations professionally.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, ensure compliance and work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, recruitment, onboarding and employee relations.
• Proficiency with HRIS/ATS systems such as BambooHR and Microsoft Office.
