Junior Engineer (UAV Inspection)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Engineer to join our technology‑driven inspection team. You will support UAV‑enabled inspections of electrical transmission and substation assets, helping to ensure reliable power infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in UAV inspections using advanced sensors and cameras.
• Act as Visual Observer (VO), maintaining line‑of‑sight and communicating with the pilot.
• Assist with sensor calibration, payload configuration, and real‑time data collection.
• Analyze inspection data with computer software and produce technical reports following QA/QC procedures.
• Support continuous improvement of inspection protocols and workflows.
• Collaborate on custom software tools for inspection management and reporting.
• Help develop preventative maintenance workflows and GIS‑based asset mapping.
• Maintain safety standards in high‑voltage or restricted outdoor environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Telecommunications, Mechanical Engineering).
• 0‑2 years junior‑level experience (or 3‑5 years for mid‑level) in field engineering, O&M, or power‑sector inspection.
• Strong written and oral English communication skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors in remote locations and varied weather.
• High safety awareness and ability to operate in regulated/high‑voltage areas.
• Physical fitness to carry up to 15 kg of equipment and travel as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Google Earth Pro and GIS tools.
• Ability to organize data files and quickly learn new digital tools.
• Basic UAV operation knowledge (Visual Observer duties, sensor calibration, payload handling).
• Competence in inspection data analysis software.
