Lawyer – Real Estate & Litigation Specialist

About the role

The Legal Department of ALSHAYA Property Development seeks an experienced lawyer to manage litigation, legal transactions and regulatory compliance for its real‑estate portfolio in Kuwait.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up cases referred to the Experts Department, attend expert sessions and submit supporting documents.
• Track procedural deadlines (appeal periods, limitation periods, filing dates) and ensure none are missed.
• Coordinate with external law firms on outsourced cases and review their submissions.
• Handle legal transactions at the Ministry of Justice, including court registration, fee payments, judgment collection and certified copies.
• Process property registration, authentication and notarisation matters at the Real Estate Registration and Authentication Department.
• Issue, renew and cancel powers of attorney and authenticate company documents.
• Open and pursue execution files to enforce judgments, including attachments, travel bans and evictions.
• Initiate legal action against defaulting tenants and draft, review and update lease agreements.
• Review contractor, consultant and supplier agreements, flagging legal risks for the Legal Advisor.
• Support property acquisitions, disposals, title deeds and development approvals, and maintain a register of cases, contracts and deadlines.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in litigation and legal transactions under Kuwaiti Civil Code, Commercial Code and Rent Law.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); a Master’s degree in commercial, civil or real‑estate law is an advantage.
• Previous experience with a real‑estate developer, property manager or a law firm’s real‑estate practice.

Required skills

• Excellent Arabic legal drafting.
• Strong written and spoken English.
