Loss Prevention Officer – Shift Leader

About the role

The Loss Prevention Officer – Shift Leader is responsible for safeguarding the property, its assets and guests by managing key control, monitoring security systems, and responding to incidents. This role combines hands‑on security duties with leadership of the loss‑prevention team during each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct key control audits, manage electronic key boxes, and issue/receive master keys, radios and beepers.
• Patrol all areas of the property, assist guests with room access and monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
• Respond to accidents, provide first aid/CPR, and coordinate with EMS when required.
• Handle emergency situations, defuse disturbances, and escort unwelcome persons.
• Complete incident reports, loss‑prevention shift summaries and daily activity reports while maintaining confidentiality.
• Report safety hazards, vehicle accidents, thefts and coordinate appropriate code responses.
• Support management in training, motivate staff and ensure tasks are completed on time.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk or run for extended periods and lift objects up to 50 lb unassisted.
• Clear communication skills and professional appearance.
• Capability to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality and follow company policies.
• Physical fitness to respond quickly to security incidents.
