Mechanical Technician – Ferro Silicon Plant

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Ferro Silicon Plant team in Kuwait. You will ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant mechanical assets through preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, blowers, hydraulic systems, cooling towers, valves and piping.
• Support equipment installation, alignment, testing and commissioning activities.
• Carry out routine inspections, identify abnormalities and recommend corrective actions.
• Complete work orders, inspection reports and equipment history records accurately in SAP.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis investigations and inspect critical spare parts.
• Ensure all maintenance work follows company HSE policies.

Required profile

• Vocational/Technical Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, Utilities or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years (certificate) or 3 years (diploma) of mechanical maintenance experience in ferro‑silicon, steel or other heavy‑industry operations.
• Hands‑on experience with pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, blowers, hydraulic and cooling‑tower systems, valves and plant piping.
• Familiarity with preventive, predictive, corrective, breakdown and shutdown maintenance in continuous‑process environments.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance practices – inspection, alignment, installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, blowers, hydraulic systems, cooling‑tower systems, valves and piping.
• Proficiency in SAP for work‑order management.
• Experience with root‑cause analysis (RCA) investigations.
• Strong adherence to HSE requirements.
