Music Teacher

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Music Teacher to deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons across primary and secondary grades in an international school setting. The role involves fostering students' musical abilities through performance, composition, listening, and theory while supporting a vibrant performing arts programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver music lessons covering performance, composition, listening, and theory.
• Teach core skills such as singing, rhythm, pitch, and notation.
• Lead instrumental and vocal ensembles, including choir and band.
• Provide differentiated instruction for diverse learners, including EAL and SEN students.
• Assess and report student progress using formative and summative methods.
• Organise concerts, performances, and school events.
• Maintain a safe, well‑managed classroom environment.
• Collaborate with staff and communicate regularly with parents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education (Master’s preferred).
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, B.Ed., or equivalent).
• Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience.
• Police clearance/DBS or willingness to obtain.

Required skills

• Music technology proficiency.
• Knowledge of exam boards such as ABRSM, IB, and IGCSE.
