Nurse - University Clinic

About the role

The American International University (AIU) in Kuwait is hiring a full-time Nurse for its University Clinic. The nurse provides safe, timely and professional nursing and first-aid support to the university community and helps maintain continuity of clinic operations. The post reports to the Clinic Doctor and the Executive Director of Campus Safety and Facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first aid, initial nursing assessment, triage and immediate care within the approved scope of practice.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, stabilise patients and coordinate ambulance or external medical referral when needed.
• Support the Clinic Doctor in day-to-day clinical services and follow established medical protocols.
• Maintain accurate, confidential and timely medical records, incident documentation and clinic logs.
• Support student health screening, medical disclosure follow-up, registration-period clinic activities and other health-service initiatives as assigned.
• Monitor first-aid supplies, emergency equipment, medications and expiry dates, and report replenishment needs.
• Maintain infection prevention, hygiene and safe-clinic practices and report any clinical or safety concerns.
• Give health education and basic wellness guidance to students and employees.
• Coordinate with Security, Student Affairs, Facilities, Human Resources and external healthcare providers when required.
• Take part in emergency preparedness, drills, campus events and special coverage as directed.

Required profile

• Recognised nursing qualification; a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent is preferred.
• Valid Kuwait Ministry of Health nursing licence, or eligibility to obtain it before deployment.
• At least 10 years of professional nursing experience.
• Strong practical experience in first aid, emergency response and initial patient assessment.
• Preferred: current BLS/CPR certification, experience in a university, school, occupational-health, outpatient or similar clinic setting, good written and spoken English (Arabic is an advantage).
