Oracle APEX Developer (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Oracle Application Express (APEX) Developer to join our team in Kuwait City on a 12‑month renewable contract. The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of two hours per day in the office, and focuses on designing, building, and optimizing secure, high‑performance web applications.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, design, develop, troubleshoot and debug Oracle APEX applications, tools, data models and database programs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end web solutions.
• Optimise SQL queries, identify bottlenecks and recommend performance improvements.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of failures and ensure system reliability.
• Define specifications and deliver new features in partnership with engineering and product teams.
• Design and implement RESTful services and integrations.
• Guide the team on best practices, coding standards and web platform constraints.
• Maintain clean, organised and automated codebases and proactively fix bugs.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in Oracle APEX application development.
• Strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL (packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, exception handling).
• Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Ajax and jQuery.
• Experience with JSON/REST web services and multilingual JavaScript templates is a plus.
• Hands‑on performance tuning and query optimisation.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and analytical skills.
• Self‑starter able to manage multiple tasks in a rapid development environment.
