Planning Engineer

About the role

The Planning Engineer will develop and manage the integrated Project Master Schedule, ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams. This role drives schedule integrity, risk analysis and performance reporting for complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Project Master Schedule using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools.
• Lead baseline schedule preparation, resource and cost loading, and schedule risk analysis.
• Track progress, update forecasts, perform variance and critical‑path analysis.
• Conduct weekly and monthly schedule reviews with internal stakeholders and clients.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to keep timelines on track.
• Prepare project performance reports, dashboards and visualisations such as S‑curves and histograms.
• Assess delay impacts and support claims and extension‑of‑time (EOT) justifications.
• Document assumptions, constraints and maintain a full change log to preserve schedule integrity.
• Interface with project controls, cost engineers and contracts teams for integrated project tracking.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project planning or scheduling within construction or large‑scale engineering projects.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to lead schedule reviews and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of project controls and cost engineering processes.
