QA/QC Welding Inspector

About the role

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Welding Inspector to ensure welding and fabrication activities meet project specifications and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect welding and fabrication work on site or in workshop according to approved WPS, ITP, drawings and specifications.
• Verify material identification, traceability, fit‑up, alignment and joint preparation before welding.
• Monitor welding parameters and confirm compliance with approved procedures.
• Review and verify welder qualifications and welding consumables.
• Conduct visual weld inspections and coordinate NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT and PT.
• Manage handling, storage and control of welding electrodes and consumables.
• Maintain inspection records, reports, punch lists and quality documentation.
• Witness hydro‑tests, pressure tests and other inspection activities as required.
• Coordinate with client representatives, third‑party inspectors and construction teams on quality matters.
• Identify non‑conformities and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API and ISO codes and standards.
• Participate in internal audits and quality meetings.
• Implement project quality plans and safety requirements during inspections.

Required profile

• Diploma in a relevant engineering or technical field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in welding inspection and quality control.
• Full‑time availability on site in Kuwait.

Required skills

• Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Inspection Test Plan (ITP) knowledge.
• Non‑Destructive Testing methods: Radiographic (RT), Ultrasonic (UT), Magnetic (MT) and Penetrant (PT).
• Familiarity with ASME, AWS, API and ISO standards.
• Hydro‑test and pressure testing procedures.
• Material identification, traceability, fit‑up, alignment and joint preparation.
• Welding parameters monitoring and welder qualification verification.
• Management of welding consumables and electrodes.
