Restaurant Accountant – Food & Beverage Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to lead the financial operations of our restaurant. The role focuses on managing day‑to‑day accounting, controlling food and beverage costs, and ensuring accurate inventory and storekeeping records.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
• Monitor food and beverage costs, analyse variances and propose cost‑control measures.
• Reconcile daily sales with POS reports and cash collections.
• Oversee inventory control, conduct regular stock reconciliations and verify supplier invoices against purchase orders.
• Supervise storekeeping operations to ensure accurate receiving, issuing and stock records.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and local regulations.
• Support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting within the Food & Beverage or hospitality sector.
• Strong understanding of restaurant costing, inventory control and storekeeping procedures.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
