Rig Manager – Deep Drilling

About the role

The Rig Manager – Deep Drilling will lead safe, efficient and cost‑effective drilling operations on high‑pressure, high‑temperature (HPHT) land rigs in Kuwait. This senior position provides overall leadership for rig performance, equipment reliability and compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all drilling and rig operations on deep‑drilling land rigs (3000 HP/HPHT) ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Execute drilling programs and operational procedures while minimizing non‑productive time.
• Coordinate daily drilling activities with Drilling Superintendents, on‑shore support teams and service companies.
• Monitor rig performance, KPIs and equipment reliability; drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Lead incident investigations, audits and emergency response activities.
• Supervise rig personnel and contractors, mentor crew and ensure competency development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Petroleum, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of drilling rig operations experience, including at least 3 years in a Rig Manager, Senior Toolpusher or equivalent leadership role.
• Extensive experience with deep‑drilling land rigs (3000 HP, HPHT) and complex drilling operations.
• Current IWCF or IADC WellSharp certification preferred.
• Fluent English with strong communication and leadership abilities.
