Rig Manager – Deep Drilling Land Rigs (HPHT)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Rig Manager to lead deep‑drilling land rig operations (3000 HP, HPHT) in Kuwait. The successful candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective execution of drilling programs while maintaining high equipment reliability and compliance with all regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all drilling and rig activities, ensuring adherence to approved drilling programs and operational procedures.
• Monitor rig performance, optimise efficiency, and minimise non‑productive time (NPT).
• Coordinate daily drilling plans with Drilling Superintendents and on‑shore support teams.
• Maintain well‑control practices at all times and lead incident investigations.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and monitor operational KPIs.
• Oversee maintenance, preventive repairs, and equipment reliability.
• Lead and develop rig personnel, contractors, and multicultural teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Petroleum, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of drilling rig operations experience, including at least 3 years in a Rig Manager, Senior Toolpusher or equivalent leadership role.
• Extensive experience with deep‑drilling land rigs (3000 HP, HPHT) and complex drilling operations.
• Current IWCF or IADC WellSharp certification preferred.
• Fluent English with strong communication and leadership abilities.
