Safety Engineer (HSE) – Oil & Gas – Kuwait

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join a leading engineering and construction management firm operating in Kuwait's oil & gas sector. The role focuses on implementing and monitoring occupational health and safety (OH&S) requirements across active contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and KNPC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with company HSE representatives to address OH&S issues and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Monitor and enforce the approved HSE plan for each contract.
• Develop and deliver safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks for field personnel.
• Conduct regular site inspections, report unsafe conditions, and drive corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and follow‑up on recommendations.
• Participate in critical task risk assessments and advise line management on HSE violations.
• Audit contractor equipment certificates and verify third‑party certifications.
• Maintain communication with supervision teams and contribute to HSE committee meetings.
• Organise safety campaigns and promotional activities.

Required profile

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10‑12 years of experience in the oil & gas sector or a similar industry.
• Preferred certifications: Industrial Safety Diploma, NEBOSH International Diploma, CSP/CMIOSH/CRSP.
• Certified auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Training in QRA, HAZOP and HAZAN studies.
