Safety Engineer (HSE Specialist II)

About the role

Worley is seeking a Safety Engineer (HSE Specialist II) to lead the implementation of KOC PMC safety policies and the project‑specific HSE Management System. You will ensure compliance with Kuwaiti HSE legislation and KOC requirements while supporting the EPC contractor and subcontractors on site.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the EPC contractor’s HSE Management System, ensuring consistent compliance and risk reduction.
• Develop, implement and maintain the project HSE Management System and Risk Management Plan.
• Maintain statistical safety data, prepare regular reports for the HSEQ Manager, and highlight trends for corrective actions.
• Review and advise on EPC contractor safety procedures, subcontractor selection processes, and statutory requirements.
• Conduct regular site visits, safety talks, and training sessions to promote a strong safety culture.
• Implement and oversee a quality safety observation program and support hazard identification activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HSE management within large‑scale oil, gas or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of Kuwait HSE legislation and KOC safety standards.
• Ability to work closely with EPC contractors, regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive safety mindset.
