Security Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a Security Supervisor to oversee the safety and security of guests, employees and property in a busy hotel environment. The role involves managing patrols, monitoring CCTV, and ensuring all emergency systems are functional. You will coordinate with other security staff and maintain strict control over access points and key registers.

Key responsibilities

• Train new security team members and coordinate multi‑skill training.
• Plan and execute security patrols, ensuring comprehensive CCTV coverage.
• Maintain staff schedules, monitor clock‑in/out times and allocate locker keys.
• Conduct random checks of key registers across departments and enforce key control policies.
• Perform 24‑hour surveillance of guest areas, work zones and monitor the closed‑circuit TV system for unusual activity.
• Inspect fire panels, fire hoses, fire barriers and alarm systems, reporting and correcting any faults.
• Ensure the hotel’s switchboard, gas, air‑conditioning and public address systems are operational.
• Maintain a daily incident log, conduct regular locker and package checks, and escort VIPs or cash transfers as required.
• Enforce hotel policies, prevent unauthorized access, gambling or sabotage, and coordinate with other security personnel.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel or similar hospitality security environments.
• Strong knowledge of emergency procedures, fire safety regulations and local security legislation.
• Ability to act quickly in hazardous situations and make decisive decisions.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
