Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team and support core accounting and reporting functions. The role covers receivables, payables, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, cash and banking activities, ensuring accurate financial information for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly Accounts Receivable aging reports and issue customer statements.
• Produce provision and management reports to aid financial analysis.
• Calculate and process commission payments for sales representatives and brokers.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of customer and general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Handle customer queries, coordinate with relevant departments, and review motor insurance claim files for compliance.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in line with IFRS 17.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation.
• Monitor adherence to internal controls, company policies and financial regulations.
• Maintain accounting records in insurance accounting systems, guaranteeing data integrity.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Commerce with solid accounting knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls and IFRS 17.
• Analytical mindset with good problem‑solving and presentation abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Team‑oriented and able to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems.
• Familiarity with insurance accounting software.
