Senior Advisor – AML/CFT Advisory

About the role

KPMG Kuwait is seeking a Senior Advisor to join its Financial Crime Risk Consulting team. The role focuses on supporting financial institutions and regulated entities in designing, assessing, and enhancing AML, CFT, sanctions and financial crime compliance frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct AML/CFT and sanctions risk assessments at enterprise and business‑unit levels.
• Review client AML frameworks against regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Develop and enhance AML policies, procedures and control frameworks.
• Perform AML gap assessments and support remediation programmes.
• Advise on customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, KYC, ongoing monitoring and transaction monitoring.
• Support AML model and transaction‑monitoring framework reviews, optimisation and implementation.
• Conduct independent testing and readiness assessments of AML/CFT compliance programmes.
• Deliver AML/CFT training and awareness programmes to client personnel and management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Law or related field.
• 4‑5 years of experience in AML/CFT consulting or financial‑crime advisory.
• Experience working with banks, investment firms, fintechs, insurance companies or other regulated entities.
• Strong analytical, report‑writing and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
