Senior Internal Controller

About the role

A growing organisation in Kuwait is looking for an experienced Senior Internal Controller to strengthen internal controls, manage business risks and support effective governance across retail, manufacturing and corporate operations. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain internal control frameworks, risk registers and Risk Control Matrices.
• Conduct risk assessments, process walkthroughs and control effectiveness testing.
• Review financial controls, inventory management, cash handling, POS transactions and retail operations.
• Identify control gaps, assess root causes and recommend corrective actions, then monitor remediation plans.
• Support internal audits, financial reporting controls, policy compliance and governance initiatives.
• Prepare internal control reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Guide junior team members and work with cross-functional departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in Internal Control, Risk Management, GRC, ICFR or Risk Advisory; Big Four Risk Advisory experience highly preferred.
• Experience in retail, manufacturing, FMCG, distribution or luxury goods preferred.
• CIA, CMA, CISA, CRMA or similar certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk assessment and control testing.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics 365, and POS systems.
• Analytical, reporting, communication and stakeholder management skills.
