Senior Pavement / Road Lead - Marine / Port Project

About the role

Egis is looking for an experienced Senior Pavement/Road Lead to oversee a major marine and port infrastructure project in Kuwait. You will direct all pavement and road construction activities so that the project is completed on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards, leading a diverse team in an international setting.

Key responsibilities

• Approve pavement designs, trial sections and mix designs (CBGM, base, asphalt, interlock)
• Check subgrade, layer compaction, levels and surface regularity for yard equipment loads, and plant and laying methods, joints and drainage details
• Review pavement acceptance and measurement records
• Lead and supervise all pavement and road construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards
• Carry out QA/QC inspections and implement corrective actions
• Enforce safety protocols, environmental regulations and local Kuwait construction standards
• Mentor engineers, supervisors and field personnel
• Analyse design specifications, material requirements and construction methods to optimise execution
• Prepare progress reports, performance metrics and documentation for senior management and clients
• Coordinate with design teams, procurement and logistics for timely material delivery
• Solve technical challenges and construction obstacles

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in heavy-duty port or airfield pavement projects
• Knowledge of pavement design, materials and construction methods
• Proven expertise in project scheduling, budget management and cost control
• Understanding of QA/QC and safety compliance standards
• Ability to lead and manage technical teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work in international and multicultural environments
• Preferred: experience with large-scale infrastructure or marine/port projects, familiarity with Kuwait standards, and knowledge of marine infrastructure or port construction
