Special Education Teacher (Overseas Contract)

About the role

Kuwait English School (KES), one of Kuwait's longest-established private schools, is hiring a Special Education teacher for its Kuwait campus on an overseas contract starting in August 2027. The school serves students from KG through Sixth Form on a British curriculum (National Curriculum for England, Cambridge IGCSE and A Levels). The teacher provides individualised support to students with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individualised support to students with special educational needs
• Develop, implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs
• Monitor student progress and keep accurate records
• Work with teachers, parents and external specialists
• Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment and support students' academic, social, emotional and behavioural development
• Uphold school policies, safeguarding procedures and professional standards
• Take part in professional development, school events and extracurricular activities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology or a related field
• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent)
• Experience supporting students with special educational needs
• Clear criminal record and ability to obtain a Kuwait work visa

• Strong understanding of inclusive education and differentiated instruction
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Salary of US$3,383 to 5,097 per month
