Steward – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Steward supports the smooth operation of the hotel’s food and beverage areas by ensuring all dishes, equipment and surfaces are clean, well‑stocked and ready for service. Working closely with the kitchen team, the role contributes to a high‑standard guest experience and upholds the hotel’s brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of dishes, kitchen equipment, floors, cupboards and public areas such as lobby, bar and offices.
• Maintain stock of cleaning supplies, dish towels and dishware, coordinating with housekeeping when needed.
• Manage waste separation and disposal in line with environmental standards.
• Liaise with the Kitchen Team to ensure equipment is clean and ready for service.
• Cover staff duties, organise shift tasks and provide orientation for new trainees.
• Hover in lobby, restaurant and banqueting rooms to support service during peak periods.
• Enforce health, safety, first‑aid and fire‑emergency procedures and report hazards.
• Participate in hotel activities, training sessions and CSR events to promote the hotel’s reputation.

Required profile

• Adherence to hotel rules, grooming standards and time‑and‑attendance policies.
• Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues across departments.
• Willingness to engage in team activities and continuous training.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with waste‑separation, first‑aid and fire‑emergency protocols.
