System Controls Analyst – Technical Fraud Prevention

About the role

The Systems Controls Data team is responsible for detecting, minimizing and preventing all types of technical fraud, ensuring correct system functionality and applying technical restrictions to safeguard Zain's business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Understand Zain's network architecture and the technical details behind services such as calls and SMS.
• Analyze multiple telecom systems (CDR, SDR, etc.) to identify unmatched records, revenue gaps and abuse.
• Perform network trend analysis to provide early warnings of potential fraud or misuse.
• Validate profile integrity, reconcile data and ensure correct risk, dunning and cohort classifications.
• Monitor changes in network elements, mediations and billing to prevent fraud resulting from improper implementation.
• Maintain the Fraud Management system, implement business rules and escalate system‑related issues.
• Conduct risk assessments for new technical systems and assist in designing fraud detection tools.
• Automate reporting by building and maintaining data warehouses from various information sources.
• Handle technical communications with vendors, internal IT and other departments.
• Develop and continuously improve customer credit limit policies and the Customer Risk Model.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of telecom network architecture and service flows.
• Ability to investigate and reconcile large data sets from multiple sources.
• Experience in performing risk assessments and implementing fraud controls.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on early detection of fraud patterns.
