Vice President – Internal Audit (Kuwaitization)

About the role

The Vice President – Internal Audit will lead QNB's Country Audit team and provide internal audit and advisory services for the branch’s activities. This senior position is responsible for developing the annual audit plan, ensuring its execution, and supporting the branch in managing risk and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Country Audit team and manage internal audit and advisory services for the branch.
• Develop the annual internal audit plan, obtain approval from Group Internal Audit, and ensure timely execution.
• Monitor adherence to regulatory, statutory, and internal policy requirements, safeguarding branch assets.
• Identify risks that could lead to financial loss, regulatory penalties, or reputational damage and recommend corrective actions.
• Highlight process inefficiencies and propose cost‑saving opportunities.
• Implement KPIs and best practices for the internal audit function.
• Follow up on issues raised by Group Internal Audit, prepare status reports, and conduct investigations or special assignments as required.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal audit, preferably within the banking sector.
• Proven ability to lead audit teams and develop comprehensive audit plans.
• Strong knowledge of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (SPPIA).
• Demonstrated expertise in risk monitoring, regulatory compliance, and policy review.
• Experience conducting investigations and special audit assignments.
