Well Control BOP Technician Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Well Control – BOP Technician Maintenance Manager will lead all maintenance, inspection, testing and reliability activities for Blowout Preventer (BOP) systems and associated well‑control equipment on deep‑drilling land rigs in Kuwait.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and supervise preventive and predictive maintenance programmes for BOP stacks, choke manifolds, accumulator units and hydraulic control systems.
• Coordinate BOP pressure and function testing to meet company and regional regulatory requirements.
• Develop annual and quarterly maintenance strategies, manage CMMS planning, spare‑parts inventory and equipment availability.
• Lead root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions to minimise non‑productive time.
• Control maintenance budgets, oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Supervise and mentor BOP technicians, mechanics and other maintenance personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Petroleum Engineering.
• 8+ years of drilling equipment and BOP maintenance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive background supporting 3000 HP, HPHT and high‑capacity land rigs.
• Current well‑control certification (IWCF or IADC WellSharp) and strong knowledge of international drilling standards.
