Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant supports the Finance team by handling day‑to‑day accounting tasks, processing financial transactions, and maintaining accurate records. This position assists with accounts payable, reconciliations, and month‑end activities to ensure smooth financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and match supplier invoices with purchase orders; resolve discrepancies with the Financial Controller.
• Prepare invoices for processing in Oracle ERP, create payment batches, and update supplier records.
• Assist in bank, supplier, and general‑ledger reconciliations and support monthly accounts‑payable balance reviews.
• Support month‑end close by preparing schedules, journal entries, accruals, and documentation for audits.
• Maintain accurate financial records, generate routine reports, and provide administrative support to the Finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in accounting, finance or accounts payable; fresh graduates with relevant internships are welcome.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle Financials preferred) and basic accounting principles.
• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work confidentially within a team.
