Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Kuwait

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will lead the finance function, shaping financial strategy and ensuring robust operational performance for a government‑backed organisation in Kuwait. This permanent position offers the chance to influence business outcomes while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, banks and regulatory bodies.
• Provide strategic insights to senior leadership for informed decision‑making.
• Monitor financial risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team to achieve operational excellence.
• Drive cost‑optimization initiatives to maximise profitability.

Required profile

• 15+ years of senior finance leadership experience, including CFO, Deputy CFO or Finance Director roles.
• Background in investment companies, sovereign wealth funds, private equity, venture capital or investment management.
• Strong expertise in corporate governance, treasury, portfolio reporting and investment finance.
• Proven experience supporting boards, investment committees or government stakeholders.
• Demonstrated strategic finance leadership with a track record in the Middle East.
