EMT Basic – Emergency Medical Technician

About the role

The EMT Basic will support fire and medical emergency operations in Kuwait City, responding to calls, providing basic life support, and transporting patients to medical facilities. The role involves maintaining readiness, operating fire‑fighting equipment, and possibly staffing the Fire Alarm Communications Center.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire, medical, and related emergency calls when dispatched.
• Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) in accordance with EMS protocols.
• Assist paramedics in assessing injuries and prioritising care.
• Transport patients safely to designated hospitals or clinics.
• Maintain vehicles and emergency equipment in a serviceable condition.
• Educate staff and the public on fire safety and prevention.
• Staff the Fire Alarm Communications Center, monitor alarms and dispatch appropriate resources.
• Participate in continuing medical education and training exercises.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months of relevant emergency medical experience.
• Valid National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification.
• Ability to work full‑time, on‑site shifts and respond to emergencies at any time.
• Physical fitness to perform fire‑fighting and rescue duties.
