Financial Controller

About the role

USim, a leading travel eSIM platform in the GCC, is seeking a Financial Controller to own its financial control environment and reporting cadence. You will work directly with founders and senior leaders across commercial, product, and operations, delivering accurate financial insights that drive fast, founder‑led decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end month‑end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
• Maintain and enhance financial controls for AP/AR, cash management, approvals, and segregation of duties.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and translate results into clear narratives for leadership.
• Produce management reports (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, KPI dashboards) with focus on unit economics, margin, and working capital.
• Manage statutory compliance, tax filings, audits and coordinate with external auditors and advisors.
• Oversee payroll and employee expense processes, ensuring policy adherence.
• Partner with commercial and operations teams on pricing, supplier contracts, and revenue recognition.
• Support finance automation, system improvements and data hygiene initiatives.
• Contribute to special projects such as fundraising readiness and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive accounting or controllership experience, preferably in a startup or high‑growth environment.
• Strong command of accounting fundamentals (IFRS preferred; GAAP acceptable) and internal controls.
• Proven experience owning month‑end close, reconciliations, and preparing management financial statements.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize in a fast‑moving setting and communicate clearly with non‑finance stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, integrity and accountability for accuracy.
