Fresh Category Manager

About the role

The Fresh Category Manager will be responsible for leading the strategy, procurement and performance of a specific fresh product category such as fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood or dairy. This role combines market analysis, supply‑chain coordination and team leadership to drive sales growth and reduce waste.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies and procurement plans for the assigned fresh category.
• Analyse market trends, consumer demand and competition to optimise product assortment and profitability.
• Manage the supply chain, negotiate with suppliers, control costs and optimise supply channels.
• Monitor inventory turnover, design promotional actions and minimise waste.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, marketing and other functions to ensure product quality and market promotion.
• Stay informed on industry regulations and continuously improve procurement and operational processes.
• Lead, coach and develop the team to improve capabilities and efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and train a team.
• Strong analytical mindset for market and sales data.
• Experience in managing supplier relationships and negotiations.
