IT Coordinator

About the role

The IT Coordinator will be the digital heartbeat of Mama Shelter Cape Town, ensuring that all technology runs smoothly for both staff and guests. You will support the hotel’s pre‑opening phase and ongoing operations, keeping systems reliable and users productive.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, network and system issues.
• Set up, maintain and optimise hotel technology systems in line with Mama and Ennismore standards.
• Assist with pre‑opening IT tasks such as system installations, user access provisioning and hardware deployment.
• Offer guidance, training and timely solutions to colleagues across all departments.
• Promote and enforce IT security standards, data‑protection practices and access controls.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets and manage inventory.
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to resolve issues.
• Support core hospitality applications including PMS, POS, network platforms and other business tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Previous experience in IT support, help‑desk or systems administration, preferably in a hospitality environment.

Required skills

• Hardware, software and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point‑of‑Sale (POS) platforms.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data protection.
• Asset management and inventory tracking.
• Vendor coordination and service level management.
