Junior Sous Chef

About the role

Join the culinary team of a leading global hotel brand as a Junior Sous Chef. You will support the Sous Chef and Executive Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring high‑quality food production and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Sous Chef in supervising the kitchen team and covering duties during absences.
• Prepare and present dishes according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Maintain food inventory using FIFO, monitor expiry dates, and minimise waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
• Coordinate with chefs to adjust seasoning, portions, and appearance as needed.
• Support on‑the‑job training for staff and help prioritize last‑minute service changes.
• Monitor food cost against budget and contribute to cost‑control initiatives.
• Report equipment issues and assist with routine maintenance.

Required profile

• Passion for hospitality and a willingness to learn in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Basic knowledge of local food safety laws and sanitation practices.
• Strong teamwork attitude and readiness to support senior chefs.
