Materials Engineer – Techno‑Commercial Support

About the role

We are seeking a Materials Engineer to provide techno‑commercial support to our procurement and maintenance teams in Kuwait. The role bridges engineering expertise with commercial activities, ensuring the right materials are available for projects, shutdowns and routine maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide techno‑commercial support to procurement and maintenance functions.
• Coordinate repair and refurbishment of major equipment and components.
• Liaise with operations, procurement and stores to evaluate technical bids, resolve queries and address material discrepancies.
• Review and manage spare‑parts requirements for new projects and ongoing maintenance.
• Prepare technical specifications and documentation for material codification and procurement.
• Monitor procurement activities to guarantee timely material availability for shutdowns, overhauls and planned maintenance.
• Verify material availability reports and deliver regular inventory and procurement status updates.
• Maintain accurate inventory and procurement records using CMMS and enterprise software.
• Support continuous improvement of inventory management and procurement processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of techno‑commercial experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy or Industrial sectors.
• At least 4 years of experience using CMMS, ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., Maximo, SAP, Oracle).
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, material codification and spare‑parts management.
• Experience in technical bid evaluation, vendor coordination and procurement support.
