Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will support the company's solution consulting transformation by ensuring the efficient, cost‑effective sourcing of high‑quality equipment and spare parts. This position works closely with sales, technical development, and finance teams to align procurement activities with operational and business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a procurement plan based on project requirements, production priorities, stock levels, and delivery dates.
• Initiate procurement activities early, considering supplier lead times, manufacturing cycles, approvals, shipping, customs, and local transport.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, clearing agents, and transport providers to guarantee timely collection and delivery of materials.
• Obtain and compare shipping and freight quotations, selecting the most suitable option based on cost, schedule, urgency, and shipment requirements.
• Proactively follow up with suppliers on production status, packing lists, certificates, and shipping documents.
• Maintain oversight of open purchase orders, pending deliveries, shipments in transit, and upcoming material needs.
• Identify potential procurement delays early and implement preventive measures such as expediting, alternative sourcing, or changing shipping methods.
• Collaborate with Projects, Production, Engineering, Sales, Stores, Finance, and QC teams to align procurement with operational priorities.

• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal teams and external partners.
• Ability to anticipate risks and take proactive corrective actions.
